Accepted Students Night Celebration

By: Daphne Tsarnas '26

Notre Dame was eager to welcome the accepted class of 2027 to our building on February 9th for an evening filled with open minds and open arms. Students of all ages volunteered as representatives to highlight our school’s outstanding opportunities, rigorous curriculum, and home-like environment. The night served as a platform for our student body to share their favorite memories and experiences at Notre Dame, such as victorious sports games and even Spirit Week.

There were several aspects of the night that made it so successful. Firstly, we were able to find the perfect balance between essential information and lively entertainment. The incoming families learned what to expect in the fall regarding the academics and logistics of our school and then were able to take fun photos with a backdrop and mingle with teachers and other personnel. Families who hadn’t been on a tour of our hospitable building were encouraged to do so with a reliable tour guide. Students were also able to ask specific questions to be answered by current freshmen, who offered first-hand information, along with seniors who were able to reminisce on their early high school years.

Our students have countless talents and interests that are able to be sustained at Notre Dame. Our athletic students offered their sports knowledge and told of the sense of community that comes with being a part of a team, while those who prefer the arts shared their passions. I even got the chance to inform families about the Chez Nous Times and how my fellow members and I allow our love for writing to bring us together weekly to collaborate creatively on the matters that affect our school and our world.

I have never witnessed a group of people so eager to join an honorary family. I have no doubt our school will benefit from this class of young learners.
