The following words will be my eighteenth and final piece of writing for the Chez Nous Times. From sophomore to senior year, I have written five New York Fashion Week articles, four articles about the recent and continuing excellence of historically marginalized groups, and many more on various topics. I sincerely could not have written my pieces without the invaluable support and assistance of Catherine Grace Polatidis, Kavya Chacko, and Ms. Brilliant and all those who have edited my articles. All of the leaders and members of Chez Nous Times have made the writing process all the more fun, and I feel that my writing has improved immensely, thanks to their help.

The next NYFW or Hispanic Heritage Month will be when my senior classmates and I are in college or participating in future endeavors, which is in itself surreal to think about! In these times of great uncertainty in our world, writing has certainly helped my mind to find peace with some well-deserved escapism by getting lost in the fabrics and accessories of fashion or all the exciting events New York City has to offer. Thank you so much to Chez Nous Times for an excellent experience and I will certainly be taking all the expertise that has been given to me to my future writing pursuits at college!

Mikaila will be attending New York University in the fall
