One of the most iconic Hollywood stars of all time, Audrey Hepburn, was more than just a famous actress, she was also a humanitarian who dedicated her life to advocating for those in need. Known for her elegance and glam that charmed the ‘50s and ‘60s, Hepburn used her successful platform to champion rights for children of poor countries, giving light to their voices.

Audrey Hepburn grew up in Brussels, Belgium, however, her childhood was spent moving across countries. Her family eventually settled in the Netherlands during World War II where she became a dedicated ballerina. After the war ended, her focus shifted from

ballet to acting in small British films. In 1953, Hepburn made her Hollywood debut in the notorious, Roman Holiday, launching her career into stardom. Hepburn received a Golden Globe and an Academy Award for best actress and from then on, her career prospered in the golden age of Hollywood. After starring in iconic films such as Breakfast at Tiffany’s and Sabrina, Hepburn became a global sensation around the world. However, being a movie star was not the only highlight of her celebrity career, Hepburn was also a prominent human rights activist and in the second half of her life, she traveled the world as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador. Hepburn used her successful career to advocate for issues facing children across the globe including nutrition, education and clean water.

Audrey Hepburn is an inspiring figure in Hollywood that not only paved the way for a new generation of actresses, but taught us the importance of helping those in need.
