Entering high school can be a daunting experience, and balancing schoolwork
is no easy feat. The thought of adding clubs to your schedule might seem overwhelming, but clubs are an incredibly rewarding experience and are valuable for your future. ND offers over twenty-five clubs, each unique and exciting. At the recent club fair, twelve new clubs made their debut, eager to welcome students.
Among the new additions are three cultural clubs—the Latinx Club, South
Asian Club (SASA), and Middle Eastern and North African (MENA) Club—all enthusiastic to share their cultures and provide opportunities for all ND students to learn. There is also a new sports club, the Tennis Club, which invites players of all levels to gather and play around the city, while many other new clubs offer unique experiences. You can find a full list on the ND website.
As the school year kicks into gear, clubs have started to meet. For example, the Book Club recently discussed The Memory of an Elephant in honor of the elephant
art installation in the Meatpacking district. The Career Club hosted Ralphie Aversa, a journalist from USA Today, who shared valuable career advice. ND Cares kicked off a book drive, inviting students and teachers to donate books to those in need. These are just a few highlights from October!
Though finding time for clubs can seem tough, attending meetings offers countless benefits. Joining a club allows you to connect with upperclassmen and peers you might not otherwise meet in class. You may even discover a passion that shapes your future. Plus, club meetings can be a fun break from the stress of a busy school day.
It doesn’t matter if you missed the club fair—clubs at ND are always open to new members, and they welcome your participation. Whether you're interested in exploring a new culture, trying a new hobby, or meeting new friends, there's a club waiting for you!
